Degree course: Navigation, 1st degree (practical profile)
The civilian studies last for 8 semesters in the following specializations (to be chosen after the 4th semester of studies)
- Hydrography and Spatial Information,
- Navigational Operation of the Offshore Sector,
- Operation of a Civilian Ship.
The military studies last for 7 semesters in the specialization of Operating Ship Systems.
Civilian studies allow for the acquisition of theoretical knowledge according to the STCW 78/95 Convention (The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
Civilian students, during the 7th semester, are sent to vocational training, which can take place on seagoing ships (as a part of sailing practice according to the requirements of Convention STCW 78/95), or in institutes/companies/offices linked with the maritime economy. Military students have their seagoing practice during the whole course of 1st degree studies according to the curriculum. During the last semester the students prepare their engineer's thesis and undertake the diploma exam, which is a condition to acquire the title of an engineer. Military students prepare to the service in the Polish Navy and cover additional classes from the military curriculum.
Graduates from the 1st degree civilian studies, after completing seagoing practice, have the qualifications to be granted the degree of a watch officer on the board department in international sailing on ships 500 gross tonnages or more.
A graduate of these studies, Eng. Adrian Groman was the winner of the competition for the best Maritime Academies graduate. The prize (a contract on a ship and a financial award) awarded by the Polish Ship Managers’ Association was handed by the President of the Association and the Minister of Marine Economy and Inland Navigation during the Maritime Economy Forum 2017 in Gdynia.

IT Studies
(general profile), specialization (military studies): maritime ICT systems, specializations (civilian studies, to be chosen after the 3rd semester)
- programming of utility applications,
- programming of mobile robots,
- computer nets,
- business computer systems.
he studies last for 7 semesters and prepare for engineering jobs and to work in the profession of a computer specialist, and to solve complex interdisciplinary problems in the general field of computer science and in specific specializations. The classes are conducted with the aid of modern developments in the form of superbly equipped labs: web technologies, programming, operational systems, and basic IT.
Mechanical Engineering
(practical profile), specialities (chosen after the 4th semester):
- Engine Room Operation (ESO)
- Mechanical Industrial Equipment Operation (EMUP)
The duration of the Studies is 7 semesters. Military and civilian students carry out their practice in Naval units and companies strictly connected with their field of studies. Students' practice is an integral part of their studies. Since 2017 part of the IIIrd year practice takes place in the Swedish Saab Kockums shipyard in Karlskrona. On the ESO specialty the department organises a two-week workshop practice in the Naval Academy as well as courses - accordant with the STCW 78/95 convention necessary to gain qualifications on the operational level - the officer second assistant engineer diploma.
Mechatronics
(general academic profile), specialities (chosen after IVth semester of studies);

- Ship's Electroautomated Technology (starting academic year 2018/2019)
The duration of the studies is 7 semesters. Graduates master knowledge of the operation of engineering computer systems used on vessels, about selected problems dealing with the rules of exploitation of mechanisms and ship devices, issues connected with the architecture of computer systems, computer design support, the realisation of engineering calculations with the usage of specialist programmes, graphic data presentation and its processing with the use of multimedial techniques and Internet resources. Students aquire elementary knowledge in leading subjects: electrotechnology, electronics, IT, mechanics, basics of automated technology and robotics, control theory, digital and microprocessor technology. In accordance with the first degree education programme students are obliged to carry out a monthly professional practice (about 40 hrs.) in companies connected with the field of studies. Military students carry out their practice on Polish Military naval vessels and in military units.
Automatics and Robotics
(general academic profile), specialities (chosen after IV th semester of studies):
- Ship Electroautomatics

The duration of the Studies is 7 semesters. Graduates are prepared for operation, activating and designing automated technology systems and robotics in maritime usage. Students are equipped with modern theoretical knowledge and practical skills giving them the opportunity to work on various posts in the Institutions of National Defense, the arms and shipping industry as well as other fields of economy. The subjects offered in the programme of these studies put emphasis on the graduates' theoretical and practical preparation to use modern computer techniques applied in ship engineering. Students are obliged to carry out a one-month practice in institutions connected with the field of studies (about 40 hrs.)
National Security
(general academic profile), specialties (chosen after the 4th semester of studies):
- Public Security
- National Maritime Security.
Studies last 6 semesters. The studies prepare for duty and work in the structures of the Ministry of National Defense as well as other government institutions and municipal corporations in the extent of overall security. The graduate of this degree course is prepared for auxiliary as well as individual posts in the field of military and non-military state security, security administration and administering crisis risk management situations.
Homeland Security
(general academic profile), specialties (chosen after the 4th semester of studies):
- Administration of Security and Public Order
- Crisis Management.
Studies last 6 semesters. The studies prepare for duty and work in the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (police, border guard, fire department, customs service, emergency management forces, etc) as well as authority of the state and local administration, administration and companies connected with homeland security, management and executive posts.
Information Systems in Security
(general academic profile), specialties (chosen after IV th semester of studies):
- Data Analysis
- Cybersecurity (specialty on military and civilian studies).
Studies last 6 semesters. In the field of professional knowledge the graduate is familiar with modern computer systems as well as general information technology, operational systems, computer webs, data basis, geographic information systems, software engineering and ICT security. Graduates should also be familiar with artificial intelligence, computer graphics and human-computer communication, be able to solve simple professional problems and participate in team work, direct small teams, communicate, gather, rank, process information, employ specialist English language knowledge from the field of IT and security. They should be prepared to work in public administration, especially government services responsible for state homeland security handling IT systems and ITC networks.
Maritime Security of the State
(general academic profile), specialties (chosen after IVth semester of studies):
- Contemporary State's Maritime Forces ,
- Transport, Forwarding and Logistics Security,
- The Security of Maritime Critical Infrastructure
- State Maritime Safety
Studies last 6 semesters. Graduates are familiar with contemporary maritime threats, knows the rules of maritime critical infrastructure functioning and technical monitoring systems, is able to design maritime safety systems, provide the safety and reliability of contemporary integrated logistics chains, the rules of providing maritime safety, development tendencies in state's safety systems. Graduates find work in maritime administration and safety at sea (coast guard, sea rescue, custom's service etc.).

International Relations
(profil praktyczny).
Studies last 6 semesters. The educational programme is adjusted to the needs of the social and economic market. It comprises of determining the competence, profiling career paths, practice and activities developing performance such as: group work, autopresentation, team communication, and developing specialist International Relations English language. Graduates are prepared to work in international institutions and organisations, in public administration, state and European as well as companies and institutions handling international politic, economic and cultural cooperation . Graduates can also seek employment in cultural institutions, higher education, research institutes, institutions handling consulting and counselling and in cooperations operating on international markets. The programme envisages IV and V semester practice at partners from the works council.
Pedagogy
(general academic profile), specialties:
- Integrated Kindergarten and Elementary Education,
- Resocialization Pedagogy.
Studies last 6 semesters. Resocialization Pedagogy graduates are qualified to work in institutions taking care of children, children care centers, adult care centers, school and environmental dayrooms, education institutes and other educational posts as well as in non-governmental organizations and education administration.
Integrated Kindergarten and Elementary Education graduates acquire pedagogical, psychologic and merit knowledge preparing future teachers to support children in a versatile way in kindergarten and early school education. Moreover, they are officially qualified to teach I-III grade pupils, in kindergarten, children's clubs, dayrooms and other institutions for the youngest.
Army in the Public Service System
(practical profile). The only course of such kind in Poland.
Studies last 6 semesters. Studies comprise of determining the competence, profiling career paths, practice and activities developing performance such as: group work, autopresentation, team communication, and developing specialist English language. The student can choose from a wide spectrum of subjects as well as subjects strictly connected with Polish Armed Forces. Graduates are equipped with knowledge and skills which constitute an answer to the demands of the public sector as well as military units and institutions handling public safety. Thanks to the knowledge of military unit operations, the basics of law and state defense systems graduates can comprise the civilian personnel of military units and be part of public institutions' personnel whose tasks involve cooperating with the army and ensuring state security. Currently students realise two projects: "The development of vocational, communicational and analytical competence of the Naval Academy military students' - The Army in the Public Service System" and "Quality internships for the Naval Academy Army in the Public Service System students'."
