Silver in Admiral’s Cup Regatta 2018

In this year`s edition of Admiral’s Cup Regatta seaman Paula Kamińska won silver medal  in the Laser Radial one-man class. The regatta took place in Ezhimala, in India on December 2-6th. Th organizer was Indian Naval Academy. This was the largest world military nautical contest in which 31 teams were participated. We took 8th place and in mixed  category – 3rd, right behind the USA and Portugal.

For the last 3 years the represenatives of our Academy is being invited by Indian Naval Academy to be a part in the Admiral Cup regatta. In this year`s 9th edition our representatives were: seaman Paula Kamińska and seaman Tomasz Bogdański. The guardian was ensign Ireneusz Kamiński.  30 countries stood for the competition in the Laser Radial one-man class. This is the Olympic class which requires from the sailor very good technique, efficiency and stamina.   The weather was freakish, Tomasz Bogdański had to struggle with drowning boat. This made him take 30 place. Paula Kamińska was more lucky and she took great 2nd place.

The regatta won Bahrain player right before the Italian and the USA representatives. The USA lady also won the woman category.

The organizers provided for the participants a lot of attractions while the week stay. They could visit the Academy, get to know some of Indian culture, golf play and climbing the near mountain.
