Academy is joining the FRONTEX Partner Academies Network

since the 24th of September the Polish Naval Academy has became the FRONTEX Partner Academy. FRONTEX is an abbreviation of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency. The Agency has been established in 2005 by the EU Regulation 2007/2004 and known as the "European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union" as the response to the migration flow to Europe. Its HQs is located in Warsaw/Poland. In the result of the migration crisis taking place in 2016, a new agency has been created based on already existing FRONTEX by EU Regulation 1624/2016. New institution named European Border and Coast Guard Agency has obtained wider tasks like search and rescue operations, cooperation with other agencies like EMSA, EFCA, ESA and EDA. Already signed Partnership Agreement between Naval Academy and FRONTEX, allows to conduct joint scientific and research projects, trainings as well as expanding cooperation with other academies of the EU.
